Edward PLIMMER

Edward was born in Shropshire and from the evidence I have, it appears he was born in Asterley, near Pontesbury, near Shrewsbury.
According to the IGI he was christened in Pontesbury on 05th September 1791, the son of John and Mary PLIMMER (nee PREESE, possibly PREES, sometimes PREECE).
I am unsure of exactly when the PLIMMER clan came to Lancashire but it was sometime after 1793, when a younger sibling Thomas was born and before early 1804, when his older sisters, Alice(mina) and Martha appeared before the Justices of the Peace in Salford.
The next time I find Edward is on the IGI in 1810 when he marries an Ann HORROCKS at All Saints, Wigan. There are two entries, one for the 13th October and one for the 30th October.
Then I find the above couple listed as PLIMMAN in 1827, when their son Edward is christened at Leigh Bethesda Independent. I have yet to find the details of all their other off-spring.
In 1841 they are living at Harrison Fold, Bedford, Lancashire and Edward is listed as a coal miner. With them is their son Edward and daughter Ann (aged 15, silk weaver), there is also an Ann LYTHGOE aged 20, a silk weaver.
By 1851 he is listed as an agricultural labourer and they are living with their son James at Bonny Well, Pennington, Leigh and their daughter-in-law's father, William LEIGH is also there.
In 1861 they have returned to Bedford, Lancashire and are living in Cottoms? Buildings near Jones's? Square, he is still listed as a coal miner. Lodging with them is a William SMITH aged 20, coal miner and his wife Ann SMITH aged 22, silk winder both born Bedford, Lancashire.
Sadly Ann PLIMMER (nee HORROCKS) died of chronic bronchitis, certified for four years, in October 1861 at the age of 73 and their address is listed as Chapel Street, Bedford, Lancashire.
Edward survived a fair number of his younger family members and passed away in June 1867, aged 75. He was living in Bond Street, Pennington and William HILL was present at his death, who I now believe to be his son-in-law, husband to his daughter Ann.

I have not done enough research on Ann at this time, I am unsure of her family roots, all I know is that she was born in Hindley, Lancashire.

Hi, Edwards father John (1755) was brother to my GGGGG Grandfather Edward (1759) who married Ann Tipton in 1786. Not having a lot of luck finding people related closer down the generations though! great site, thanks
